FiFTH DIDEROT MATHEMATICAL FORUM
MATHEMATICS AND TELECOMMUNICATIONS
and will take place in
EINDHOVEN (Netherlands),
HELSINKI (Finland),
and LAUSANNE (Switzerland)
on
November 22-23, 2001
In recent years the rapid development of telecommunication
networks, typically for cellular phones or the internet, has required
much more sophisticated tools to ensure the proper flow of messages.
Many of these tools have an important mathematical component, and
several areas of mathematics have contributed to the field. New
challenges are coming up. To be met, they will require to set up
further collaborative ventures that the Forum hopes to put in the
proper light.
